Price to PhD stipendiate

Johannes Härtl wins the EFCE Excellence Award in the Mechanics of Particulate Solids in 2010 on a PhD carried out in a cooperation between University of Edinburgh and Tel-Tek, dept. POSTEC.

Dr. Härtl did his PhD at the University in Edinburgh in co-operation with Tel-Tek, dept. of POSTEC, as the final part of the Marie Curie project named “Ensuring the Reliable Flow of Materials in the Processing of Particulate Solids”, planned and initiated by late professor Sunil de Silva of Telemark University College, and completed by Gisle G. Enstad at Tel-Tek, dept. POSTEC. The EFCE (European Federation of Chemical Engineering) is encouraging and coordinating research and development of European Chemical Industry, and its Working Party on the Mechanics of Particulate Solids (WPMPS), who has been responsible for the selection of the winner, writes to Johannes: “The Federation congratulates you on your excellent PhD thesis, for which you achieved the best evaluation results in terms of innovativeness, breadth and depth of the study, quality of publications, and especially the transfer of know-how to industrial applications. “ The experimental part of the work was carried out on the experimental silos of Tel-Tek, dept. POSTEC, under the guidance of chief scientist Gisle G. Enstad.
