Pneumatic conveying equipment

POSTEC has extensive test facilities to perform pneumatic conveying tests under different transport conditions with semi-industrial scale and lab scale test rigs.

Figure 1 and 2 show schematic diagrams of the 2 main conveying test rigs available with us.

Our test facilities consist of:

  • A semi-industrial scale test rig with a blow tank of 3m3 capacity and 10 bar maximum working pressure with top and bottom feeding capabilities, connected to a series of pipelines of 1.5”, 2”, 3”, 4” and 5” diameters and maximum length up to 200m, with horizontal, vertical and inclined orientations together with different radii bends, valves, hose sections and other pipeline accessories mostly used in industrial installations (see Figure 1).
  • A pilot plant scale test rig with a blow tank of 0.4 m3 capacity and which can withstand a maximum pressure of 8 bar. The total length of the pipeline is approximately 26 m including the total length of vertical section of approximately 13 m. The pipeline has an internal diameter of 58 mm. In Figure 2, the pressure transducers are shown as PT and the air flow meters as FT.
  • Different feeders used for dilute phase conveying and negative pressure systems
  • Vertical air-lift, a pneumatic conveyor designed for vertical transport of dry fluidizable powders into elevated silos or receivers
  • Instrumentation to measure pressure, air volume flow, solids mass flow, etc with full capacity of monitoring and recording of all signals.
  • A PC based data acquisition and processing system to visualize, record and process test data
  • Online sample taking instruments
